It takes a village

Join your community in making therapy and support more accessible for youth.

Community is Medicine works alongside school counsellors and community-based professionals on Vancouver Island to provide free therapy to young people who need it most. A strong chain of support is essential for youth to thrive and access the care they need to navigate challenging times. When the whole village is connected, young people are never alone.

  • Our counselling fund helps young people in your community access the support they need, when they need it most. We partner with school counsellors who identify students facing barriers to care, whether due to financial challenges, complex family situations, or other circumstances.

Once a young person is ready to take that courageous first step and talk to someone, we make sure there’s no delay. We connect them with trusted, registered counsellors who are a good fit, and our fund is ready to cover the cost so they can start their healing journey right away.

  • Community is Medicine doesn’t take any fees—and neither does our fundraising partner—so 100% of your donation goes directly toward youth support and therapy.

Our counselling fund is currently available to young people in Victoria, Duncan, and Nanaimo, helping them access the support they need, right in their own communities.

  • Community is Medicine is a registered charity, and we provide official tax receipts for all donations.

  • Will you consider supporting our charity so we can continue providing support to young people across Vancouver Island and BC?
Your generosity helps keep our anonymous helpline running and ensures youth have someone to turn to when they feel lonely or isolated. Donate.
